The State of Australia's Children 2025 Webinar
Dec 10, 2025
On Wednesday 10 December, we had the privilege of showcasing The Atlas platform at the State of Australia's Children Report webinar, alongside colleagues from UNICEF Australia, ARACY, and the Minderoo Foundation.
The State of Australia's Children report offers the most comprehensive picture of wellbeing in Australia today, combining the latest publicly available data with the lived experiences of children and young people to provide a holistic view of what it means to grow up in Australia in 2025.
The findings reveal growing challenges for children facing significant disadvantage, underscoring the need for coordinated investment in prevention and early intervention to ensure every child has the best possible start in life.
Through a live demonstration, Marketa Reeves highlighted how the Atlas' data visualisations make the insights from the State of Australia’s Children report even more accessible and engaging. The Atlas provides an interactive way to explore and engage with data in the report at state, regional, and even local community levels, helping us see clearly where children are thriving and where greater support is urgently needed.
This webinar featured Prue Warrilow (ARACY), Ana Nieto (Minderoo Foundation), Marketa Reeves (Australian Child and Youth Wellbeing Atlas) Adrienne O'Dell (UNICEF Australia), Christopher Hatano (ARACY Young and Wise member) and Peter Susanto (UNICEF Australia Young Ambassador). Together they unpacked key findings across The Nest’s six wellbeing domains, outlined practical pathways for earlier and community-led action, and discussed how the Atlas can support planning and decision-making for local community-led action.
